The investment firm Strategy announced it has purchased additional Bitcoin, bringing its cryptocurrency position to roughly $1.2 billion. The company said the acquisition was made through its dedicated digital‑asset fund, which aims to capitalize on the long‑term growth potential of the leading digital currency. To fund the purchase and strengthen its liquidity, Strategy intends to sell a portion of its publicly traded stock, targeting a cash inflow of about $500 million.

The stock sale will be executed via a secondary offering, with the firm expecting to place the shares at a price close to the current market level. The proceeds are earmarked for expanding the firm’s balance sheet and supporting ongoing investments in both traditional and alternative assets. Strategy’s chief financial officer noted that the move reflects confidence in Bitcoin’s role as a store of value and a hedge against inflation.

The decision comes as several institutional investors increase exposure to digital assets amid a broader market recovery. By combining a larger Bitcoin stake with a cash‑raising stock issuance, Strategy is positioning itself to benefit from potential price appreciation while maintaining sufficient liquidity for future opportunities.

Analysts view the transaction as an indicator of growing acceptance of cryptocurrency within mainstream finance. It also highlights how firms are using equity markets to fund crypto investments, a trend that could influence capital allocation strategies across the sector.
